ABOUT THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT OF JEFFERSON COUNTY  
The Behavioral Health Division of Jefferson County Human Services provides mental health and substance use services from birth to adulthood for all residents of the County.  The primary focus of this Division is to provide evidence-based treatment that is recovery oriented, trauma informed, and person centered.  

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Jefferson County Human Services seeks multiple full-time team members to provide a variety of services within our Emergency Mental Health team. The primary responsibilities of this individual will be conducting crisis assessments, responding to clients with mental health and substance use needs, developing response and crisis plans.

 Hours for this position are Tuesdays-Saturdays 2pm – 10pm.

 SOME ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be successful in this role by completing the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Work as a team member with Fort Atkinson Police department where 25% of crisis calls originate. Perform ED assessments/Suicide Risk assessments, Emergency Mental Health Services, elder abuse investigations and guardianships, adult protective placements, and placement assessments. May determine and arrange child and adult protective placements and custody.
  • Develop and implement crisis plans, response plans and some protective and safety plans
  • Interviews victims, witnesses, and parents. Meets with law enforcement, hospital staff, schools, and families.
  • Prepare reports that are following federal, state, and administrative laws, policies, and procedures
  • Variety of other tasks and responsibilities.

 

Qualifications:

  Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, Social Work, or closely relate field.
  • Valid driver’s license, Emergency Mental Health, Juvenile Court Intake Worker and Motivational Interviewing training.
  • Extensive training provided in:  Motivational Interviewing; Trauma Informed Care; Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Suicide Assessment. 
  • If not already trained, training provided for Juvenile intake worker.

 

        Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s degree and/or two years’ experience with a Licensed Social Worker. 
  • Substance Abuse Counseling licenses or equivalent training.
  • Trauma informed care training.

 

Wage & Benefits
